TOWERS

Three-dimensional work relates instantly to our senses, in how we see, feel and touch. In my spatial explorations, I am researching the gliding scale between sculpture and architecture, studying light and shadow, materiality, tactility, proportions, dimensions, lightness and heaviness. In this project, I have worked with the architectural typology of “towers”, exploring in plaster casts how different spatial characteristics can be achieved by means of reduction. That is, starting from one common shape, subtracting space with different methods by adding positive parts to the mold; creating a hollow core, creating linear voids, or external openings.
